NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER FOR RADIATION MEDICINE (NRCRM)

The National Center for Radiation Medicine (NRCRM) was established after the Chernobyl accident to conduct research in the areas of dosimetry, radiation hygiene, medical, biological and radioecological effect of radiation. The Department of Dosimetry and Radiation Hygiene and the Laboratory of External Exposure Dosimetry have a solid experience in the areas of retrospective dosimetry (dosimetric support of epidemiological studies, assessment of doses among evacuees and residents of contaminated territories), dosimetric monitoring (individual dosimetry), and development of methods for assessment of effective and organ doses of workers and patients.

The main task of NRCRM will be to provide experimental on-phantom validation and benchmarking the results of Monte Carlo calculation performed by other partners in WP4.
